What is Cosmetic Dental Bonding?
Dental bonding is a cosmetic procedure where your dentist applies tooth-coloured resin to a damaged, decayed or discoloured tooth. Using adhesives and a high intensity curing light, the resin is bonded to your natural tooth to give you a more even smile.
The Bonding Process
If you have a minor cosmetic dental issue, such as a cracked or discoloured tooth or a gap between your teeth, dental bonding may help address it.
The composite resin used by your dentist can be sculpted into shape, hardened and polished to match your natural teeth. Dental bonding is ideal for small cosmetic work and may also be used to fill small cavities.
How Long It Takes
Dental bonding typically requires only one visit to your dentist's office. The process can usually be completed in 30 to 60 minutes per tooth.
Dental bonding isn’t appropriate in every situation, but it can be a quick and relatively inexpensive way to help alter your smile.
